Edify School, Kanakpura Road, hosted a two day’s workshop on Capacity Building Programme for teachers on ‘Inclusion and Inclusive Strategies. The objective of the workshop was to sensitise teachers towards the children with special needs.
The workshop was conducted by Principal, NPS Jayanagar, Ms. Madhumati Suresh and Coordinator, Air Force School, Hebbal, Ms. Shweta Sharma in collaboration with CBSE to inculcate the concept of Inclusive education in CBSE schools. It was attended by the school’s Vice Principal, Academic Administrators, and teachers along with teachers of several other schools from in and around Bangalore.
The day began by invoking the blessings of Almighty through a resplendent song rendition followed by lighting of the lamp by the Principal, Edify School Kanakpura, Ms. Pamela Ghosh, Vice Principal, Ms. Daisy Bastian, the resource persons and one of the teacher participants.
On the first day, the participants were briefed about the significance of inclusive education through many engaging activities and discussions on how to cater to the special needs of the children. The focus of the workshop was the inclusion of children with special needs in the classroom with the other children.
On the second day, the participants were briefed about how to prepare differentiated lesson plans keeping in mind every student in the classroom. The participants gave presentations on various disabilities, their causes, symptoms and cure through ppt, charts, role plays, poems etc.
The workshop provided the participants with an opportunity to equip themselves abundantly with the various strategies and effective ways to respond to the needs of the children with any kind of disability.
