Event: Coffee Morning

The coffee morning is a unique way to present the learning and understanding of Inquiry Module topics of the students. The event provides a great opportunity for the parents to get an insight into the learning process of their children.

Edify Kanakapura organised a coffee morning for the parents of Grade 2 A, B and C on Saturday 14/12/2019. Academic Administrator Primary, Ms. Kala Hiremath, welcomed the gathering and gave an overview of 3C to the parents. She also spoke about the importance of having coffee mornings in school. The students showcased their learning under the six stages of Inquiry Module through displays as well as dynamic presentations

The topics of the coffee presentation were  “Earth and it’s Natural Resources “ and “Houses”. Students presented the topic through various interesting activities like quiz, mind map on the uniqueness of the planet Earth and Need of houses. They also presented skits to spread awareness on changes in planet Earth due to Global warming and to talk about the functions of different rooms in a house. The presentation highlighted how the Earth is our home and what steps we should take to save Earth, use its resources wisely in order to secure our future.

The students also enacted a story from  Stones to Milestone- “ An Elephant in the house” and presented a skit on the story -“ The Ant and Grasshopper” from school cinema. They also performed a song and dance to spread the message ‘Save Earth’ in Hindi and dance on “Home” in Kannada. The event also included an awareness march where every student gifted a small plant to the parents presented in the coffee morning to spread awareness on planting trees to  Save Mother Earth.

The presentation left the parents enchanted and dazzled and they gave excellent feedback for the same.
