The coffee morning was organized for the parents of the students of Grade 3 A, B and C on Saturday 15/10/2022. Coffee morning is a unique way to present the inquiry cycle by students. Students display their knowledge and understanding about the content on a platform where parents and facilitators are the audiences. The event was a great opportunity for the parents to get an insight into the learning process of their children.
Parents were appraised about the unique teaching-learning pedagogy being practiced at Edify School. They were briefed that the children first learn in different ways using different skills in the Inquiry Module process.
The presentation was based on the topic “Our Identity”. The students highlighted the importance of the human body, the types of human systems, and how the organs coordinate with the entire human body. A dance was also performed to show the importance of the Skeletal system.
The students also displayed their skills by integrating subjects like English, Math, and Languages (Hindi and Kannada) with the Inquiry Module.
In English, the students integrated Adjectives by explaining the A B C of a healthy living. In Maths, they spoke about the ascending and descending of the weight of the human organs followed by a fraction display on the water content in a human body. In Hindi, they presented a skit on the importance of the human body and its organs, and in Kannada, the students spoke about the sense organs followed by a melodious song. Students also displayed few yoga posture which is important in our day-to-day lives. The students also took the initiative to motivate and guide parents to stay healthy and eat healthy.
Students spoke about the various clubs’ activities like DIY club, Green Thumb, and Heritage club. They also presented a short act on public speaking skills.
The presentation of the inquiry module was done using PowerPoint presentation as a tool.
Overall, it was an enriching experience for all those who attended the coffee morning and their lovely feedback spoke ample about their fulfilling experience.
The assembly concluded with a vote of thanks and the National Anthem.
