Water is the driving force of all nature
The students of Grade 6 Of Edify School Kanakapura Road, accompanied by
facilitators visited the Visvesvaraya Rainwater Harvesting Theme Park on 9th
November 2022, as a part of their educational field trip,
They were guided through the campus and shown the various methods of rainwater
harvesting, including primitive and modern methods. They were briefed about the
steps involved in the process of harvesting the collected water.
Along with the rainwater harvesting models, the park also has small gardens with
flowering plants as well as vegetables and fruit trees. These have been planted not
only to beautify the space –but also to play a role in harvesting water. There are
some plants here that soak up groundwater and others that thrive on minimal
watering.
The trip concluded with the screening of a motivational documentary that showed
the importance of water in our lives and its conservation through rainwater
harvesting.
