Let’s salute the nation on this auspicious day.
The Independence Day is celebrated all over India in unity with great patriotism. This year too, Edify school celebrated the 73rd Independence Day with great enthusiasm and respect.
To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, our Principal Ms. Pamela Ghosh unfurled the tricolor flag followed by the National Anthem expressing the joy of our freedom followed by the address of Head Girl and the Head boy of the school.
A Cultural extravaganza was organized to enhance the colour of the day’s celebration. The programs started with the welcome speech by the Head Discipline of the school followed by a invocation song to make the day a blessed one.The program took a rhythmic turn when children of Grade VI to X, performed Tabala and Piano combo/ Jugalbandi on famous Patriotic songs. A skit written and directed by the students of grade 9 and 10 on the grant and revoke of much talked about Article 370 was very informative and enjoyable at the same time. A thought provoking mime by the students grade 6-8 fuelled the feeling of patriotism in every heart assembled. Everyone’s heart skipped a beat when the girls of grade 6-10 gracefully danced to the tune of patriotism.
The celebration doubled this year, as Rakhshabandan, the festival to celebrate the endearing bond between a brother and a sister too fall on the same day. A rakhi making activity was held for all the students. A few Inter house competitions like Seven Tiles, Kho Kho, Carom and Chess and were also organised for the students. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the school’s Sports Captain and distribution of sweets.
Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to inculcate the feelings of love and respect towards our nation and make it a better place for all of us to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity.
