International Translation Day
Objective:- In bringing nations together, facilitating dialogue, understanding and cooperation, contributing to development and strengthening world peace and security.
Grade- 3
“Without translation,we would be living in provinces bordering on silence” – George Steiner.
The students of Grade 3 observed the International Translation Day, in a virtual assembly on September 30,2021.
The assembly started with the Guru Vandana, school prayer, school song and thought of the day.
The students spoke about the importance of language translation which facilitates dialogue, understanding and cooperation contributing to the development and strengthening world peace and security.
The students also briefed about St. Jerome who was a priest from Italy, who was known for his endeavor of translating most of the Bible into Latin from the Greek. The enthusiastic students also spoke few words like good morning, hello, thank you and goodbye in few foreign languages like Arabic, Chinese, German, Japanese, Korean and Spanish
The students discussed the key profiles which included communicative, open minded and inquirer.
The assembly was edifying and engrossing.
