Event- Online session on Lymphatic system

Gaining knowledge is the first step to wisdom. Sharing it is the first step to humanity. Sharing knowledge occurs when people are genuinely interested in helping one another develop new capacities for action, it is about creating learning processes.
On 7th of September2020, Edify school conducted a knowledge sharing session on Lymphatic System –“the drain pipes” of human body . It was an online teaching learning experience wherein the teachers and students from gr 8,9 and 10 participated.
The guest speaker was Dr. Anees Fathima Khan from North Western University, Chicago.
Dr. Fathima Khan is a Ph.d. holder in Cell Biology from Birla Institute of Science and Technology and currently in the post of senior analyst – Northwestern University Chicago. She is also associated with various research work related to cell biology both in India and abroad. She has also achieved number of awards for her teaching experience and research work.
The session initiated with a welcome speech by Dr. Dipti Chaturvedi- AGP secondary followed by the presentation by our guest speaker.
Dr. Fathima spoke on the lymphatic system and its importance in human body, learning developmental events leading to formation of lymphatic vessels. (lymphangiogenesis) and also shared her research work on the role of Foxc transcription factors in development of lymphatic system.

The students had the opportunity to interact and pose questions to the guest speaker. Students also had a chance to learn about specific topics in a way that helps to get fully involved in the class and actively engage in a more approachable way of teaching and learning.
The session concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms. Gauri Ranganath -Biology facilitator.
